Our Story

The Artrageous Arts Community was born in 2014 out of a theater arts group that came together in 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The founding community began as a street theater troupe in the 80s. After traveling across Canada and down the East Coast of the US, they finally settled in New Mexico, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

The group supported themselves through several diverse business enterprises before transitioning into an internationally-renowned touring band, 'The Pink Flamingos,' as well as performance painters with the act 'The 3 Painters.'

In 2014 the troupe combined their diverse artistic backgrounds into one show called 'Artrageous.'

With a history of over 3000 shows performed as an artistic community and averaging over 100 theater performances per year as Artrageous, the troupe has appeared on TV programs, had multiple national and international tours, and has been featured throughout North America and abroad.

As an arts community, service to others has always been a strong motivator for our enterprises. We believe the arts are a critical component of childhood education and can help develop empathy.

In 2014, we developed our non-profit arm, Artreach, specifically for students. Artragous has donated over 100 Artreach shows to communities around the United States.
